The Primary unit consists of first, second & third grade age students. They will be taught where they will meet success which means when they are ready for a particular curriculum, they will be taught at that level regardless of their age.
Lial’s Primary program allows the child to progress according to their own ability rather than an artificial, one- size fits all time table. It may be a bit overwhelming for parents at first, but the children fall into the rhythm of primary very quickly. Part of the growth experienced in primary is that each student is learning to accept responsibility for his or her own learning. The second and third grade aged children also assume responsibility for helping the first graders adjust to the new all-day school format. The primary curriculum includes total language, math, science, social studies, religion, art, music and Spanish.
Three full-time, bachelor degreed, elementary education specialists are our primary teachers.
